Our vacation apartment, just a 20-minute walk from the perched village of Reillanne,
is an ideal location for sightseeing in Provence - and/or lounging by the pool surrounded by nature.
The apartment is on the ground floor of our home on a private road surrounded by green hills.
The idyllic setting offers beautiful views of the Luberon.
Reillanne is an old, off-the-beaten track Provencal village.
Even in high season, it's not overrun with tourists.
The town's ancient hilltop church and clock tower are a photographer's delight,
as are its skinny alleys lined with weathered stone houses.
Shoppers and visitors flock to its lively Sunday market.
Reillanne has two bakeries, a small grocery, a tobacco/press store,
a hairdresser and three cafes, each with a restaurant.
In addition, the village of Cereste, 10 kilometers from Reillanne, has three excellent restaurants.
Forcalquier with its bustling Monday market is just 18 kilometers away, Apt with a Saturday market is 28 kilometers.
Nearby are charming Provencal towns to explore:
Roussillon, Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Isle sur la Sorgue, Menerbes and more.
Avignon, Marseille and the Mediterranean coast are each about 1 ¼ auto hours distance.
Aix-en-Provence is an hour's drive. The Gorges du Verdon, 1 ½ hours drive.
A 236-kilometer marked bicycle route passes through Reillanne
(My husband and I discovered this delightful area of Provence while cycling this circuit.).
Pedaling on the back roads of Provence is also superb and we can recommend many trips.
Hiking opportunities abound in the area, with marked trails just steps away.
More adventure, such as kayaking, canoeing and rafting, is not far off.
After a day of sightseeing, shopping, hiking or biking, come back to the countryside, enjoy a swim,
sip a glass of wine by the pool. Or, spend a day with a good book lounging by the pool,
listening to the birds. Enjoy outdoor dinners under the rose-covered pergola.
For a special treat, fire up the outdoor pizza oven and make your own hearth pizza.

The tastefully decorated apartment has two separate entrances, a large living room/bedroom with two double beds. Satellite television and internet connection on site.
Shower and toilet are separate. The adjacent kitchen includes a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher,
a range top with four burners, small oven, dishes and cookware, as well as a dining table.
Just outside is a rose-covered pergola with a table for outdoor dining next to the pool.

Reillanne is easily accessible from the TGV stations in Aix-en-Provence and Avignon,
as well as the airport in Marseille (1 1/2 hours). The north/south autoroute, A51, is just 25 auto minutes away.
Ideal for a couple or family with one or two small children.
